Mercedes Neira, Esq. is a experienced trial attorney with over 10 years experience litigating hundreds of cases including divorces, annulments, custody, spousal and child support, and paternity in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester. She is a knowledgeable appellate attorney with over 15 years experience analyzing cases, conducting legal research, identifying and evaluating legal issues, writing and arguing briefs on appeal in state and federal matters. She has negotiated and drafted hundreds of agreements for the equitable distribution of marital property as well as pre and post-nuptial agreements involving extensive real estate holdings, business entities, pension and retirement plans, and sophisticated investment vehicles.

After attending Vassar College (1981-1985) and Fordham Law School (1986-1989), Mercedes Neira worked as an attorney for the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court (1990-1993). She has been in private practice since 1994. She also performs of counsel work in the area of matrimonial and family law to for law firms in the New York City area.

Mercedes Neira serves on the Family Law Sections for the Brooklyn and Queens Bar Associations as well as the Animal Rights Committee for the New York City Bar Committee.
